I was taking some photographs around Roy Bridge on Monday, to upload to MyCanmore and the Highland HER. I noticed the Place of Worship marked on the Canmore mapping which confused me because I had not noticed any churches along the side of the road! So I had a look on some older maps which show this as RC Chapel.
I have sent the details into the RCAHMS and HER so hopefully they will start a record on it.
A friend tells me she has a copy of a picture of the last Mass held there in 1928 so that fits with the building of the new church in 1929.
The pictures are on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/doffcocker/sets/72157628075862016/ & my website is http://www.mbriscoe.me.uk

My Father's mother was a MacDonald! Her father was a Hotelier in Spean Bridge! My father was born in 1919 and
was put up for adoption! We only found this information out after my father died, have been to visit Cillie Choirille and it is a beautiful place!

I grew up in Bunroy and had never known there was a chapel there. Can't work out from this where it was. I remember an old cottage , known as Bannan's cottage , which was derelict. Had it been part of the building ?

The chapel in the picture was actually at the Chapel Brae which is about a mile from Roy Bridge in the direction of Murlaggan.
